poly people inferior the students from JCs? i doubt that... =)
Read the Newpaper today. There was this Redpony guy who commented in a online game forum that poly students are a stupid and childish bunch of people. Saying that we, the people students can't even get the basic marks for getting into JCs. So we should bear in mind that we are inferior to the JC students.
My reply to this comment...
First of all, even though it's true most of us can't get into JCs because we "over-scored", but there are also people who just scored 9 for his L1R5 in his O Levels who came into poly. What's the reason for them to do so? It's because they know what they are going for so instead of going to JCs, they follow their passion.
Second point, this Redpony said that we the poly people can't even do well for secondary subjects which are elementary math, elementary science and blah blah blah. So since, the JC-ians already have their solid base for elementary Math, Science, English and other subjects, why there are still many friends of mine from JCs are struggling for their Chemistry, Physics, Econs and even GP??? He also said that given HTML, the JC people are surely to grasp it much faster than the poly students. Hmmm, well if he is so sure of it, why not he try learning java and C++???
Hmmm, can't recall what else he said cause the paper is with my brother... but who cares!!!
I know that it's not all the JC students who think this way but just talking about the Redpony guy. He's just a simple minded guy who talks without thinking. Hey, many of the "IDOLS" out there are also from poly alright? And nowadays, more and more poly students are getting in to university. Be it local or overseas, the rate of people who graduated from poly and enter university are getting higher! So basically, the Redpony guy is just a frog under the well who sees nothing except for the "circle sky" which is the only thing he is able to see.
So to conclude, "Poly students are inferior to JC students"? I seriously doubt so... =)
